Misinformation? The goal of this visualization is to show how the data should be handled without misleading the users.
The topic chosen for this project was “Fake News” this was done to accommodate the brief requirement and the importance of responsible data handling. agenda. The data was collected from a company called “Morning Consult” and this was a poll that asked 2,210 US citizens how much trust they have in different news media sources.
CLEAN THE DATA
Who do you trust? Compere different generation (Baby Boomers, GenX, Millennials, Gen Z) and how much truth the are putting into different source of information such as: newspapers, online only news and social media.
DESIGN ASSETS
With the data cleaned, the next step was to design the assets for the newspaper (medium chosen for the nature of data selected). Different symbols were assigned to represent various media sources, each given a value of 1%.. The focus were put to the two main user groups; Baby Boomers and GenZ.
SURVEY
The stamps represented the 3 distinct types of news media sources analyzed in the visualization.
“AR.js”
AR (Augmented Reality); this kind of interactivity was designed to satisfy the 2nd user, Gen Z.
NEWSPAPER
The data was expanded to enrich the user experience and allowed for experimentation with new forms of communication. Building a bridge between the young and old generations was an essential aspect of the project.
